Welcome — Notes on Building Reliable Software

Global post views

Welcome. I’m Jay Shah, a backend engineer and Computer Science student who enjoys turning rough ideas into useful, reliable software.

This is where I’ll document the things worth remembering: building backend systems, contributing to open source, solving programming problems, and learning from projects that do not work on the first try.

What you’ll find here

  • Engineering notes from the systems and tools I build.
  • Lessons from open-source contributions and debugging sessions.
  • Short explanations of concepts that took time to understand.
  • Occasional thoughts on competitive programming and learning in public.

A useful shape for future posts

When I write here, I’ll usually start with the problem, explain the approach I took, share what worked or failed, and finish with the main takeaway. It keeps each post useful without making it longer than it needs to be.

Start small, improve often

The goal is not to have a perfect archive on day one. It is to leave behind clear notes that help me—and hopefully someone else—build better things over time.
